I ordered a new set of 6UL ’s in titanium oxide— aka championship white, made famous b y Honda. Gorgeous, aren’t they?
Immediately after, regret settled in. I c anceled the order.
What’s happening to me? I used to be an absolute PRO at buying frivolous items that I 100% don’t need. But that has changed. Now, the very thought of spending money is painful. I’d rather just save up, build credit, earn rewards points, earn interest, et c.
I don’t like this development

Becoming a responsible adult, scary!
Welcome to the world of boring cheapness. Don’t worry you are still allowed to look for a cheap set of wheels on craigslist and then hit them with some white spray paint.

I’m hoping this happens to my brother. It’s probably a good thing for you in the long run. Maybe if you save the money before spending it you’ll feel better.

How much didn’t you spend?

*does not compute*
end of the month comes round and i still have a couple pennies left for meself i do a little happy dance and buy something i want before the other 2 eat my money again and household apliances blow up

Have you gotten older, recently? That might explain it.
In 1994, I bought a new 4x4 Sierra Ext Cab for ~$28,000 (roughly $42K in today’s money). At that time, I was making $15/hr and living with the folks (never said I was smart). But I got my truck and I was a happy boy.
Now, I make somewhat more than that, and recently hemmed and hawed over spending $27K on the Outback. Buying a $42K ride never even entered the equation.
Moral is: These things do happen.

Adulting is the worst. But sometimes it pays to be patient and save for a goal .

Just get cheaper wheels. I wanted to get a nice set of 6ULs or the 949s but then I cheaped out and just went with some RAGE branded crap from discount tire direct. They look halfway decent and are just always covered in brake dust anyways so no point in nice ones. Yeah I could get lighter wheels but these are under 15 pounds so I am happy.

Those couple pounds make such a big difference though!

Yeah but that requires spending money. Used market is definitely your friend but that also takes effort. Although it is nice to be able to tap into the Honda market since 4x100 is used there as well in some of the older stuff. The TRM wheels are around 12 pounds and are under $100 each on tire rack. That is a better happy medium. I had those for my autox wheels before I had to sell them when I moved. I REALLY wanted to keep them but it was more cost effective to sell them.

Start small, buy a non running 50cc scooter from a garage sale, then slowly build up your portfolio from there. Remember investing is a marathon, not a sprint.
And good call on the tetanus shot

$950 for the wheels and lift kit

Still have them. 15x8, one of which is bent.
I like the white though, and would like a narrower wheel for winter driving

That ship has sailed :/
They're all pricey around me. Even the I-wouldn't-touch-that-with-a-ten-foot-stick examples are over $3000

lol she does the dishes.. and occasionally cooks (if we feel like eating pasta with somekinda tomato sauce or pancakes.... coz she refuses to learn more recipes than that)
but actually making her work is proving pretty difficult.. shes on the autism scale (very mildly) but apparently her tic is a stubborn streak a mile wide..... she’d rather sit on a chair and stare at the corner of the room all day than do as she’s told some days (also she cant read emotions or body language or sarcasm for shit)
mostly a good kid tho :)
(course today i learnt she got herself a boyfriend.... sooo bad kid... go to your room)

Damn bent already ? They supposed to be super strong aren’t they?
Why narrower? Snow getting stuck in the wheel well?
Also I won’t say anything about frivolous spending especially now that I am awaiting a new watch from Switzerland. The white is dope tho . Would fit your rally theme.
![]() 10/02/2018 at 22:17 |

*small bend*. More of a dent, really. I hit one of the rear wheels on a curb drifting in the snow two winters ago. Still works fine!
Narrower so I can run norrower tires, thus having better snow driving ability. Also less chance of rubbing, which is a concern at the moment, and 15x7's are a bit lighter which is always a plus!
White wheels will be mine someday.

You would travel all the way to socal for a hard top? What is a good price for you? I would think anything sub $1k is a good deal on one of those in good condition.

Ah got ya, explains why I had an easier time getting around in the snow when my car had 185s on the stock 15x6s.
Also lighter is my goal/ minor obsession

If you don’t have one already, I suggest starting a retirement fund if you’re currently debt free. If not, pay that off. I’ve got a Vanguard Roth IRA that’s been making me money while I do nothing to it. It’s roughly 8% interest a year but it’s compound interest so by the time I retire in about 45 years I should have a decent amount, especially when I’m out of college and able to contribute more. Otherwise I’d say keep saving, make sure you’ve got a good emergency fund of 8 months to a year should something happen to you, then save for whatever life has in store for you.

Being an adult sucks sometimes. Like who knew responsibilities were going to be a thing? Why weren't we educated about these kind of hard decisions and harsh realities?
